EMMA, SEI STARK! ("Emma, be strong!")

The freedom of thought for women. A dialogue over the centuries

Texts by Jane Austen, Sophie von La Roche, Carson McCullers, Irmgard Keun, Charlotte Roche and other authors of different epochs

Staged musical reading on 8 May 2017 at 20:00h in the Panoramakino

The work of English novelist Jane Austen, who died 200 years ago on 18 July 1817, is the only remaining testimony to feminine irony and shrewd language from this period. Quasi from the height of her work, this staged musical reading takes a look at the historical and geographical realm of female writing with protagonists engaged in an imaginary dialogue.
